This policy is written to be clear and thorough. It is not legal advice. Laws differ by country; if you operate in regulated industries or have high-risk processing, have a qualified lawyer review this document for your situation.
This Privacy Policy explains how lil' bird life coaching (“lil' bird”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use our websites and services, including:
- lilbird.life (main site, booking, chat, assessments, and articles)
- Inner Compass (Deep Profile assessment and “Nest” profile)
- Life Change Sessions: Solo (self-guided course at lilbird.life/solo/)
- Relationship / team dynamic tools (including embeds on partner sites that load our tools)
lil' bird is operated by Luke Haythorpe. lil' bird is part of the broader Orangery Leadership Solutions ecosystem; Orangery’s own website has separate policies for services booked directly through orangery.solutions.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. For privacy requests, contact us at the email above. We aim to respond within one month (or the period required by applicable law).
2. What data we collect
Depending on what you use, we may collect:

Voice input: On some assessments you may use your browser’s speech recognition. That processing typically happens on your device or via your browser vendor’s service; we receive the transcribed text you choose to submit, not a permanent audio recording on our servers unless we state otherwise in-product.
Sensitive data: You may choose to share information about health, relationships, faith, or other personal matters in coaching-style tools. We treat this as special-category–adjacent content: please only share what you are comfortable with. We use it solely to provide the service you requested, not for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Why we use your data (legal bases)
If you are in the UK or EEA, we rely on the following under UK GDPR / EU GDPR:
- Contract — to provide the assessment, course, or tool you signed up for, send your results, and manage purchases.
- Consent — for optional marketing (e.g. newsletter, Saturday pulse emails), non-essential cookies where required, and any processing you explicitly opt into.
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve our services, prevent abuse, understand aggregate usage (analytics), and respond to enquiries — balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records (e.g. tax-related payment records).
You may withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (e.g. unsubscribe links in emails). Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully carried out.
4. Who we share data with (processors)
We use trusted service providers who process data on our instructions. They may be located outside your country (including the United States). Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the provider’s certification under recognised frameworks.
- Cloudflare — hosting, security, and serverless workers that run our APIs
- Anthropic — AI analysis of assessment answers and chat messages to generate reads and responses
- Stripe — payment processing for course and profile purchases
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Beehiiv — newsletter subscriptions (if you sign up on lilbird.life)
- Supabase — Solo course accounts, progress, and tool saves
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics (where enabled on a page)
- Calendly — scheduling when you book sessions (subject to Calendly’s policy)
- Google Fonts — typography delivery (may involve IP address shared with Google)
We do not sell your personal data.
5. How long we keep data
- Inner Compass (“Nest”) profiles: for as long as your Nest link remains active, or until you ask us to delete them, or after a prolonged period of inactivity (typically up to 36 months), whichever comes first.
- Solo course data: for the life of your account plus a reasonable period afterward (typically up to 24 months) unless you request earlier deletion or we must keep records longer by law.
- Payment records: as required for accounting and tax (often up to 7 years).
- Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe or we remove inactive contacts.
- Chat messages: not routinely stored by us beyond what is needed to return a reply in-session.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability (where processing is automated and based on consent or contract)
- Withdraw consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, and correct personal information; we do not sell personal information. To exercise rights, email hello@lilbird.life with the subject line “Privacy request”.
To delete an Inner Compass Nest profile, email us with your Nest ID or the email you used. To delete a Solo account, email us from the address tied to your account.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls on our infrastructure, and reputable processors. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners may use:
- Strictly necessary — required for security and core functionality (e.g. session tokens for Solo).
- Analytics — Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (measurement ID G-P9C0PBTHXB) on pages that load our analytics scripts, to understand traffic and improve the site. You can limit this via browser settings, opt-out extensions, or Google’s opt-out tools.
- Third-party embeds — Calendly, Beehiiv, or Stripe checkout may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
Where UK/EEA law requires consent for non-essential cookies, you should implement a cookie banner on pages that load analytics — we recommend adding one via your site host or a consent tool if you have not already.
9. Children
Our services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
We are based in the United States. If you access our services from the UK, EEA, or elsewhere, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our processors operate.
11. Embeds on other websites
Some tools (e.g. relationship dynamic) may be embedded on partner sites via iframe. Those pages load content from lilbird.life; data you enter is handled under this policy. The host site may have its own analytics or cookies — review their policy separately.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted on lilbird.life or by email where appropriate.
